Seminar, Kunsthochschule Kassel
Room with a View: Transitions from drawing, walking and writing to experimental screen printing.
The architecture of the Kunsthochschule Kassel reveals a special relationship between “inside” and “outside perspectives” through its numerous window fronts and inner courtyards. But the question of how these two spheres interact with each other also arises on a thematic level: in this workshop, we explored the “space in between” - through drawing, reading, a hike and a writing workshop by Hanako Emden. The results were transferred to textiles with and returned to the spatial. Curtains served as experimental canvases, which were designed directly in the classroom using the screen printing process to create a new narrative level in the room that unites the inside and outside not only spatially but also in terms of content. The results were presented in a small exhibition and turned into a publication.
